Plastic design and degradation study for third world applications
Test 'sleep' on the HDPE2 pillow and mattress.
Our group set out on a team mission to valorize plastic bag waste in bidonvilles of Casablanca, Morocco into products that can improve the quality of life of those living in the Berber communities. The team developed five products in total: a rug, a volleyball, a mattress, a knapsack, and a pillow. The mostly immediately useful and easiest to manufacture are the pillow and mattress (illustrated above).
